Made-in-India Train 18 named Vande Bharat Express: Railways Minister Piyush Goyal

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on Sunday said that the Indian Railways has named the indigenously manufactured Train 18 as Vande Bharat Express.

The change in name is seen as an attempt by the government to acknowledge the made-in-India status of this high-speed train, which will operate between Delhi and Varanasi. The Vande Bharat Express will touch a maximum speed of 160kmph.
It is expected that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would soon flag off the 16-coach train.

3rd ODI: India eye series win, Kiwis look to stay alive

After clinching back-to-back victories against New Zealand, Virat Kohli-led India will look to seal five-match ODI series when they lock horns with the hosts in the third game at the Bay Oval on Monday.
A victory in the upcoming match would give India an unassailable 3-0 lead, which would be enough for the Men in Blue to take a fitting revenge of their disappointing 0-4 defeat during the limited-over series against the Black Caps in 2014.
India, who headed into the New Zealand tour on the back of their maiden ODI and Test series win in Australia, kicked off their five-match series with a convincing eight-wicket win over the Kane Williamson-led side at McLean Park, Napier. The visitors followed it up with a crushing 90-run triumph in the second ODI at Bay Oval.

Donald Trump signs bill ending longest government shutdown in US history

President Donald Trump on Friday signed the bill ending the longest government shutdown in US history. The US has been hit hard by the shutdown over the last 36 days with nearly 800,000 federal employees temporarily thrown out of work.
Trump wants to build a US-Mexico border wall for which he has been seeking a whopping USD 5.7 billion in funding for the physical barrier which according to him is a must to prevent the flow of illegal immigrants into the US. The Democrats, however, have asserted that such a move is a "waste" of taxpayers money.
The President had on Thursday said that he would only sign a bill if it included a "down payment" on a border barrier. "One of the ideas suggested is they open it, they pay sort of a pro-rated down payment for the wall, which I think people would agree that you need the wall," Trump had been quoted as telling reporters at the White House.
