the best time to visit Ziro…?
Ziro
experiences pleasant weather throughout the year and you can plan your trip
here any time of the year. The best time to visit Ziro is from March to October. During the summer
season, Ziro becomes a perfect retreat to get away from the torrid heat of
nearby cities. The lush greenery with clear blue skies makes the entire place
look picturesque and magical. Spotting bird and animals is sure to excite
anyone who visits Ziro.
Another
ideal time to visit Ziro is in Early Winters from October to November when the valley is enveloped in snow. However,
the months from late November to January experiences firgid temperatures as low
as -13 degree celcius; hence must be avoided. Monsoon is yet another beautiful
season to visit Ziro welcoming you with variagated valleys and beautiful
weather.

1. Kile Pakho
It works
as a view point as the viewers get unique views on both sides. The Ziro plateau
on one and the snow laden Himalayas on the other.
2. Talley Valley Wildlife Sanctuary
This 337
sq. km. sanctuary is home to a wide and exotic variety of flora and fauna. The
endangered clouded leopards are also found here. The sanctuary has a spectrum
of flora as well which includes silver fir trees, ferns, orchids, bamboo and
rhododendron.
3. Meghna Cave Temple
This
temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is located close to Ziro. The 10 minutes
climb up the stairs is completely worth it when you reach the 5000 year old
structure at 3000 feet above sea level.
The
carvings are magnificent and the architecture great. Truly an uplifting journey
when you visit this temple.
4. Shiv
Linga
The
headquarters of lower Subansiri District located 1500 metres above the sea
level, Ziro is 167 Km from Itanagar. This Shiv Linga is self made having Sfatic
as garland naturally which is 25 feet in length and 22 feet in width.
Ziro, a
town in Arunachal Pradesh also
known as Apatani plateau located at an altitude of 5754 ft. above the sea
level. There exist the world's largest Shivling which has been discovered not
long ago by the locals of the state. Ziro is a high town almost a level valley.
This destination is perfect for picturesque with quietly flowing rivers of
Subansiri, Apatani, Nishi, Dafla and Miri and an ideal place for trekking and
hiking.

Nearest
Airport: Jorhat
Airport (JRH) - 98 kms from Ziro
BY Train : There are daily trains from
Guwahati to Kathal Pukhuri costing around INR 750-1100. It takes 8 hrs to reach
Kathal Pukhuri. From there you can hire a taxi till Ziro. Ziro doesn’t have a
railway station. Trains are also available from Tezpur.
