Points You Should Know before Casting Your Vote


Dates for General Election announced on Last Sunday and election will be held in 7 phases across India.
So before going to cast your precious vote, these are 21 Important Points you must know:

1.All Citizen turned 18 years on 1st January,2019 are eligible to Vote

2.Those turned 18 on 1st January,2019 and not registered as Voter can register on nvsp.in till last dates of filing nominations.

3.Total Voters registered as on 1st January,2019 are 900 Million (90 Crore) who are eligible to vote.

4.Total Voters in the age group of 18-19 years are 15 Million (1.5 Crore)

5.As on Date 2354 Political Parties are registered with Election Commission.

6.Facility to check names in Electoral rolls through SMS or Toll free no is 1950

7.Absent, Shifted and Dead Voter list has been prepared and will be given to Presiding Officer on the Poll Day.

8.VVPAT (Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail) with EVM at every polling Booth.

9.GPS Tracking of movement of EVM and VVPATs

11.Photograph of Candidates in EVM Ballot Paper

12.Model Code of Conduct applicable from today (10th March,2019)

13.Voter Card or any one of the following;

(Passport, Driving License, Service ID Cards, Bank Passbook, PAN, Smart Card by Labour Ministry, MNREGA Job Card, Health Insurance Smart Card, Pension Document with photograph, Official I Cards issued to MP/MLA/MLC, Aadhaar Card) will allow them to Vote

14.Environment Friendly Election where Plastic/Polythene cannot be used for making Election Publicity Materials

15.Systematic Voter Education so that “No Voter to be left behind”

16.Separate Bank Account by Each Candidate for Election Purpose only.No Cash Expenditure more than Rs.10,000

17.The Maximum Ceiling on expenditure for Lok Sabha is 70 Lakh

18.cVIGIL App - Citizen can record any violation of Code of conduct and status of their complain would be shared within 100 minutes

19.Voter Helpline 1950 and Mobile App

20.Contesting Candidates can log on to suvidha.eci.gov.in

21.Single integrated Website eci-citizenservices.eci.nic.in for all purposes
